Thanks Will for the response to my earlier comment. I would just like to say that I followed your advise and ordered the Certificate for the Birth of Alice M Gaulton in Manchester. And while I was doing my research I also came across two other names Albert J and Harriett E, all three entries also had a matching entry under Parker.
The Mothers name on Harriett’s was Alice Maud Gaulton and only Alice on the others. Same couple thought as the address was the same. What was the most significant was the fact that Alice Maud had three younger siblings Joseph, Harriett and Elsie. These three went into an orphanage after the parents died in 1916 and Alice named her first daughter Harriett Elsie and her first son Albert Joseph.
Her partners name was Albert Parker who had been a private in the 12th Manchester Regiment, and then became a Canal Boatman, I have not yet found his military records so any help here would be kindly received.
Also, it looks like Alice and Albert may have moved to Dartford as I have found 4 double entries of children in Dartford with entries under both Gaulton & Parker: Reginald (B: 1926, D: 1927), John (B: 1929, D 1929), William(B: 1929, D 1929) & Kenneth J (B: 1934, D: I think 2004).
Thanks again Emma
PS: If there are any decendants of a Harriett Elsie Parker or a Kenneth J Parker listening to this Podcast please respond to this comment. Thanks
Kenneth James Parker was my father, and my dad’s sister was Elsie. We don’t know anything about my dad’s side of the family apart than my dad’s dad was call Albert. We belive that my dad’s mum died giving birth to my dad or soon afterwards. My mum as tried to trace my dad’s side of the family but without much luck. Any info you may have would be very welcome.
Regards Jeff
